2 More Public Safety Divers Added
Today Ex-Chief Kahill and FF Vanvalkenburgh finished up an intense 40 hour course (ERD1) with Notheast Public Safety Divers. Today’s drill in the Monksville Reservoir included removing masks while switching to alternate air sources and performing search patterns. Members from Mahwah, Ringwood and Parsippany also participated.
2017 Fund Drive
On behalf of the Oradell Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to thank the residents and businesses of Oradell for the generous support of our 2016 Fund Drive.
We are asking for your donation again this year.
The Oradell Fire Department is a 100% volunteer organization donating our time and skills to assist the residents, businesses and visitors of Oradell. The department is made up of your friends, neighbors and coworkers who spend many hours training and responding to calls for assistance.
In 2016 we responded to 328 fire and rescue related emergencies. While we hope you never need us, rest assured we are here 24 hours a day to serve and protect you and your family.
Thank you for your continued support.
5″ is here and it’s not April Fools
Today members of Oradell FD outfitted Engine 23 with 5″ supply hose. A big departure from how we normally conduct business. This is the first 5″ Engine in the Departments history. We have never needed large diameter hose because of our proximity to the Water Pumping Facility but as a progressive Department we march on.
FDNY – Line of Duty Death
It is with deep regret that FDNY announces the line of duty death of Firefighter William N. Tolley. Firefighter Tolley, 42, was assigned to Ladder 135 and bravely served the Department for 14 years. Firefighter Tolley was critically injured while fighting a 2-alarm fire in Queens. He was transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Firefighter Tolley is survived by his wife, Marie, and his daughter, Isabella. He is the 1147th member of the Department to make the Supreme Sacrifice while serving our city.
Thoughts and Prayers from all the Members at The Oradell Volunteer Fire Department.
